By the Barkers
are a design driven directing team + studio.

Through their background in photography, they’ve developed an ease and focused eye, creating a modern aesthetic, strong compositions and captivating visual narratives. They’ve been tapped by some of the biggest brands in the world to create content for a variety of platforms, becoming a new leading force in contemporary but timeless storytelling through motion and still photography.
By the Humans
Often brought in during the early stages of planning, the Barkers are known for their ability to design a production approach that protects the creative- even with challenging timelines or tricky budgets. Having the capacity to take a production from "soup to nuts", their studio includes editing, design, GFX and finishing for both motion and photo. Humanity and emotion, driven by concept, is at the center of their strong and sometimes playful, visual and design forward aesthetic.

Integrated Productions.

We had the pleasure of working with Majority on their Kids Foot Locker Remix Campaign where we created:

• 30 stills,
• 3 x 15's
• 3 x :06's

-with 9 talent in 1 day all shot on 1 location. It included in store signage, print ads, OLV's, Video billboards for Time Square, and digital prerolls. Good thing there are two of us, because we definitely had to have 2 sets going at once.

FOOD & BEV

So we scaled down our big sets like JCPenney and made these lil tabletop ones for Tropicana. Punched with sunlight and making beverages sparkle. Jumping from tabletop to limbo world (studio / stage) live action- we created this spot for National Toothbrush Day (edited & finished in house, by our studio).

SOCIAL

From limbo world, we jumped into a pool of lifestyle. See what we did there. We not only did the print portion of this but we created social shorties + some tik toks. We had to have people pull a bottle from a wave graphic = design + splash my camera. (more of our lifestyle work here). From there we passed some sunshine, made a tik tok dance and played with some transitions. Oh, and on this shoot we had 3 sets running at once.

Set Design.

We love designing unique sets for our clients like we did for Affirm. Had to find a home in Florida to turn into a retail store, mattress store, electronics store, and even our version of a Crate&Barrel.

For Clorox we designed and fabricated 17 sets, shot in 2 days, in our Chicago Studio for National TV spots- with an additional ask for 3 TikTok Videos for social.

SHOOTING ON A STAGE

We love to shoot on location, but we also know how to make it happen on a stage. We shot 3 National TV spots for Home Chef and needed multiple kitchens and food prep areas in addition to 3 kitchen sets constantly being built, styled, and rebuilt for the next shots. We added character elements and cues in the propping to enhance the visual narrative and tell a story even though we didn’t show faces.

Lighting
Product.

For Aveeno Kids we took it international with Doner and shot lifestyle scenes, with product and had our partners at Sarofsky doing character animations where the animals jumped off the label and into the scene to interact with the talent. The lighting, and mapping it for post was key in making each character “feel” like they were part of the scene.

EVEN Casting Real people.

(For the record, professional models and talent are real people too) Our friends at Cramer Krasselt asked us to create ADs in realtime for Porsche using real people (that we had to talk into signing releases) that came to their 4 day event, Sports Car Together Fest. In addition to 4 x :60’s for their site, they wanted paid social ads that were multimedia- so we made a mix of posts that were motion, stills, GFX parallax, and a bucket of digital media styled bite sized nuggets using current camera tricks and editing trends- edited in real time by our team at the event. We even got to hit up the Pretty Cool Ice Cream car. Mmmmmmm.

Thank you
